If being as quiet as possible about the Back to the Future episodic series was a goal of Telltale Games, well, mission accomplished. The first of five episodes is set to hit PC and Mac in December, with an iPad version slated to follow at some mysterious point after the fact. It’s clearly an ambitious project. The series takes place after the events in the time-twisting third movie and boasts the on-hands support of BTTF stars, writer Bob Gale and actor Christopher Lloyd.
And that’s about all we know. Actually, until earlier this week, we didn’t even know what the series would look like until Telltale slipped some images to IGN. Perhaps it was worth the wait because, as you can see, the game looks magnificent.

It looks like another seasonal addition of Angry Birds [$.99, Light, HD] is coming our way. Developer Rovio has switched its Facebook profile image to what could be an “Angry Birds Christmas” logo, perhaps teasing a new, presumably level-packed version of the global success.
All we’ve got is speculation. As of right now, Rovio hasn’t made an official comment revealing “Angry Birds Christmas” edition, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that one will be coming. Angry Birds Halloween [$.99, HD], an iOS-exclusive joint released on October 21 for $.99, charted and amused fans of the game with its 45 levels and themed content, which included new visuals and pumpkins.

If you were a PC gamer back in the early 90s, you may remember a point-and-click adventure game by the name of Gobliiins [99¢]. In the game you took control of three different goblin characters who each had their own unique abilities that would need to be utilized to solve a series of (sometimes nonsensical) puzzles. A charming art style and humorous story complimented the clever use of the different characters in Gobliiins, which went on to spawn 3 sequels in the two decades since its original release.

Early this morning, Trilobyte Games, developers of the classic CD-ROM game The 7th Guest, started pushing out tiny whispers on their Twitter account that they would be bringing that game to the iOS platforms. Just moments ago, they again confirmed the existence of a The 7th Guest port coming to iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on their Facebook page. Trilobyte was closed down in the late 90s, and is now being resurrected to bring this official port to the App Store.

Just in time for Halloween comes word of an official Evil Dead game coming to the App Store. For those that don’t know, Evil Dead is a campy 80s horror movie directed by Sam Raimi (yes, the director of the Spider-Man movies) that follows a group of college kids as they spend the weekend in a remote cabin in the Tennessee woods. They accidentally unleash demons into the world by using The Book of the Dead, and all manner of Hell breaks loose. Main character Ash (the “King of All B-Movies” Bruce Campbell) spends all night fending off his friends as they each become infected with evil spirits. Evil Dead has become a cult classic horror film in the nearly 30 years since it was released.

After taking a look at Lil’ Pirates a couple of weeks ago, Capcom Mobile is keeping the casual social freemium game trend going with their recently announced Smurfs’ Village. Smurfs’ Village looks to mimic some of the same mechanics of other similar titles like We Farm [Free] and Farmville [Free], but wraps it up in gorgeous artwork based on the classic Smurfs franchise. While these kinds of games have proved to be insanely popular as of late, they aren’t typically my kind of game personally. But as a fan of the Smurfs growing up, I must admit I’m intrigued by the concept of Smurfs’ Village and can’t deny that the screens are looking fantastic.

We are mere days away from the release of the sequel to Samurai: Way of the Warrior [$1.99] by Madfinger Games. The sequel, Samurai II: Vengeance will be available on Thursday of this week (or, more accurately, late Wednesday night) and we can’t wait.

Time Geeks: Find All! is a hidden object game with a retro presentation and an affinity for geek culture. So while the game as a whole features catchy chiptune music and stylish pixel art, the first level includes a hatch, a polar bear, and the tail section of a plane. Yes, the word “geeks” in the title is well deserved, but that’s not a bad thing.
